In Andover we run a project called ‘Diversity For Dinner’.
This is a free cultural food event. We invite people waiting for refugee status and living in temporary accommodation, and people awarded with refugee status, to join us for an evening filled with fun, family, and food.
From being based so closely to a hotel in our Andover branch and getting to know the residents we are only too aware of the isolating effects of temporary accommodation in England. We run this project to help welcome people into the community, and provide a safe space to relax with friends and family.
The food is themed at each event. This time:
Spaghetti Bolognese!
